Ми глибоко засмучені і скорбимо за всіма жертвами війни в Югославії. Як православні християни ми засуджуємо будь-який прояв агресії .
Ми вражені та обурені цілеспрямованим і послідовним винищенням засобів масової інформації в Югославії. Ми трактуємо це не інакше, як війну проти преси. Зі всіх проявів цензури, які ми засвідчуємо у цій війні, такий є найжорстокішим.
Наші колеги-журналісти гинуть під час виконання своїх професійних обов’язків. Вони стали жертвами війни проти інформації. Сьогодні це є яскравим показником аморальності тих, хто веде війну в такими методами.  На наших очах розбиваються такі демократичні цінності, як свобода інформації та інші, виплекані християнською цивілізацією.
Кажуть, що у війні першою жертвою стає правда. Трагічно, що останнім часом в цьому занадто часто доводиться переконуватися. Водночас Святе Письмо навчає нас, що не в силі Бог, а в правді.

Ми звертаємося до сил НАТО негайно припинити атаки на Югославію, щоб нарешті було досягнуто мирне і справедливе розв’язання цього кривавого конфлікту.
Ми звертаємося до наших колег, щоб усі ми у своїй роботі дослухалися нашого сумління, шукали правди та висвітлювали її без страху чи упередженості.
 

We grieve for all the victims of the war in Yugoslavia. As Orthodox Christians, we condemn any act of aggression.
We express our common shock and dismay with the intentional bombing of news media facilities in Yugoslavia. We cannot interpret this as anything but war against the press. Of all the acts of censorship we have witnessed in this war, this is the ultimate.
Our fellow journalists are dying as they carry out their professional duties. They have become casualties in the war against information. This testifies to the moral defeat of those who carry out a war in such a manner. What we see is the decay of democratic values, such as freedom of information, which are cherished by our civilization.
It is said that in war, truth is the first casualty. Tragically, this has all too often been proven correct. But we also know that the Bible reveals to us that God is not brute force, but the truth.

We appeal to the NATO powers to cease their attacks on Yugoslavia so that a peaceful and just resolution to this conflict can be achieved.
We furthermore appeal to our colleagues that in our work as journalists we listen to our conscience, seek out the truth and present it without fear or prejudice.
